It is widely recognised that swimming provides many health, social and community benefits. These benefits are enjoyed by members and families who swim regularly in club programs.

With over 155 clubs and 11,000 members throughout the State of Victoria covering both metropolitan and country areas, becoming a registered member of a Swimming Victoria affiliated swimming club provides many additional benefits including: 

  • Access to competitions and events
  • Insurance cover including Public Liability and Personal Accident coverage with JLT 
  • Inclusion into the Junior Excellence Program
  • Access to GO Club Development Programs and other club based opportunities
  • Structured competitor pathway to state, national and international events
  • Education and Training advice and assistance
  • Support and general administrative assistance to clubs and districts
  • Provision of awards and special membership
  • Resource facility for schools and individuals
  • Representation to local Government on matters concerning affiliated clubs
  • Representation to clubs and districts to a range of sport agencies

JLT Sport

JLT Member Insurance

JLT Sport is the appointed risk specialist for the Swimming Australia National Risk Protection Programme that includes insurance for all members of Swimming Victoria. Clubs may access their Certificate of Currency at any time simply by visiting JLT Sport's web site (Note: you must obtain your club's SwimNet ID Number from Swimming Victoria prior to accessing this document).  JLT Sport's web site includes information that will help you and your members with insurance and risk management.Click here to visit JLT Sport's Website  Clubs can visit www.jltsport.com.au/swimming to obtain their Certificate of Currency. You will need to obatin your SWIMNET ID fromsv.admin@vic.swimming.org.au and District must apply directly to Swimming Victoria for their Certificates.

 

Working With Children (WWC) Check

The Department of Justice has commenced a phasing-in program for all people working or volunteering in connection with a number of recreational or sporting groups including Swimming.  All individuals involved will be required to apply for a WWC check by 30 June 2009.  Click here for further information.
