Presidents Forums

Swimming Victoria will be hosting a series of Presidents Forums across Victoria in 2012/13.

  • Engage with Swimming Victoria;
  • Hear about the latest strategy & program updates;
  • Network with other Presidents and Club Committee Members;
  • Participate in information sharing & open discussion sessions; and

GO Club PB

2013

The GO Club PB Program is the national swimming club standard that recognises and rewards swimming clubs by measuring their performance across five key areas:

  • Memberships
  • Administration
  • Activities
  • Coaching and officiating
  • Marketing and promotion

Swimming clubs are the backbone of our sport and it is a key strategic priority of Swimming Australia Limited to ensure that clubs continue to develop and excel. The GO Club PB is a key component to measuring and rewarding your club on its ability. By completing a series of questions that Swimming Australia has identified as having strategic importance, a club can gain a better understanding of their strengths and weaknesses.

Inclusive Club Standard

ICS Logo_2013

The Inclusive Club Standard is a new exciting and innovative national initiative that provides recognition and encouragement to clubs creating an environment which is inclusive of people with disability. The Inclusive Club Standard serves two purposes; the first is to provide recognition and reward to those clubs who are taking steps to create an inclusive environment in their clubs; the second helps clubs, regions, state associations and Swimming Australia to identify areas of strength and weakness enabling the development of programs to address inclusion of people with disability more effectively.

Participating clubs will receive feedback on results of a simple audit so they can see where they are doing well and where they can improve. Based on their results clubs will receive an Inclusive Club Standard Star Rating ranging from 1 Star for a club that is still Discovering Inclusion through to 5 Stars for a club considered to be a Leader in Inclusion, these clubs will be achieving highly across all areas. Clubs can use their results to promote their club in the community and attract more members with disability.

The Inclusive Club Standard is embedded in the GO Club PB program so clubs can also earn GO Club PB points by completing the Inclusive Club Standard. In addition 10 participating clubs will be randomly selected to receive a cash grant of $500!

Please note the application date for 2013 has been extended to the 13th May, 2013

Relationships between Schools and Swimming Clubs

Swimming Victoria has been working closely with the School Sport Victoria Swimming Sub Committee throughout 2012. A major focus area has been to develop an opportunity for schools to seek support from their local swimming club and for the local swimming club to make contact with schools where they may be able to assist with some of the following - facilities, officials, conducting encouragement events for school students, assisting teachers in preparing their school team for the local swimming sports. To facilitate this, a letter templates have been created which schools & clubs can personalise to forward to the local swimming club/school seeking an opportunity to chat about how they may be able to work together.

Click here for further information on the School Sport Victoria website.
