The President of Swimming Victoria, Geoff Hare OAM is pleased to announce Warwick Waters will be joining Swimming Victoria as the new Chief Executive Officer effective January 2011.
Warwick has a strong background in the aquatics industry, with previous management and director experience at Royal Life Saving Society Victorian Branch, Life Saving Victoria and Aquatics and Recreation Victoria.
Geoff Hare said “Swimming Victoria is pleased to confirm Warwick’s appointment following a thorough recruitment process. Applications for the role were received from interstate and international candidates and we feel we have found the best person for the role.”
Warwick said “I am passionate about the aquatics industry and I feel this is a fantastic opportunity for me to use my previous experience and current knowledge to move the sport of swimming and Swimming Victoria forward. I look forward to tackling the challenges ahead.”
Warwick will be entering the organisation at a busy time with the 2011 Victorian Open Championships being conducted on the 14-16th January 2011 at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.
Swimming Victoria is confident Warwick can lead the organisation in implementing the 2010-2013 Strategic Plan “Swimming For Life”.
